Papel pardo: livro ilustrado e interativo sobre a identidade parda

Abstract

The following work is a research and project developed within the scope of socially engaged design, aiming to construct a visual and interactive narrative through the creation of an illustrated book that serves as a form of representation for the Brazilian pardo (brown). Through bibliographical and statistical research, the study sought to conceptualize the term "pardo" and to examine its characteristics and historical roots. Subsequently, employing the methodologies proposed by Munari (1981), Motta (2012), and Bebel (1995), the project aimed to build a representative story of this diverse and complex group. In this context, the illustrated book format was selected to visually construct an imagetic repertoire that reconnects the pardo population with its Afro-American heritage. herefore, it was also essential, during the bibliographical research phase, to address the formation of cultural identity, particularly concerning adolescents, who constitute the target audience of this project. Finally, the design phase of the work was initiated, beginning with research and analysis of similar references, which led to the development of the illustrated book.
