Resumo

This study explores the concept of the uncanny as an aesthetic category, analyzing its presence and relevance in art, film, and fashion. The research begins with a philosophical and psychological analysis, emphasizing its symbolic and affective implications, followed by an investigation of its representations in both art and film. Fashion is presented as a narrative that challenges conventional aesthetic standards, especially through counterculture movements and the role of costume. It also explores contemporary appropriations by designers and brands that incorporate elements of the uncanny into their productions, reaffirming its relevance in the current context. The study then focuses on the visual universe of Tim Burton's films, particularly Home for Peculiar Children, and how its poetics can reverberate in the fields of fashion and photography, influencing collections, editorials, and visual productions. Finally, the study culminates in the creation of a fashion editorial inspired by Burton's aesthetic, encompassing creative design, moodboard development, art direction, and styling, with the aim of constructing a visual narrative that engages with the unusual.
