Abstract

This work investigates the construction of 18th-century clothing, analyzing some of the sewing and pattern-making techniques used in women's garments of the period. The research offers a new perspective on the study of historical trajectories, often a laborious task through the sociological analysis of the meaning of clothing for each period. Here, the focus is on understanding how these pieces were made and adapting these techniques to develop an original and conceptual collection for brides. This demonstrates the importance of studying the History of Fashion for designers, not only as a reference for silhouettes, but also as another possible way to create their pieces.
