Resumo
This study advocates the application of biophilic design techniques to enhance the environment of small residential apartments, aiming to promote quality of life and mental well-being for residents. Supported by bibliographic references, the research highlights the impacts of rapid urbanization and the increasing demand for smaller apartments, which can lead to stress and psychological discomfort. Based on the integration of natural elements, such as vegetation and natural light, the study explores design solutions that create healthier, more comfortable, and functional living spaces. The project was developed through preliminary studies of a selected apartment, which served as the foundation for the draft design and later the executive project. As a result, a residential project was created in Goiânia, Brazil, where the integration of natural elements, vegetation, and artificial lighting played a key role in transforming the space into a welcoming, functional, and peaceful environment for its residents, contributing to the reduction of stress-related discomfort. Furthermore, this study aims to demonstrate the importance of biophilic design as a necessary and effective approach to address the challenges of compact urban housing.
