Abstract

Based on research on the representation and presence of women in art, I select and study works by two female artists, creating two woodcut matrices in MDF inspired by this study. In these matrices, I incorporated regional elements from Goiás into the composition to establish a dialogue between the lives of past artists and my experience as a contemporary female artist from Goiás. I pursued a culturally plural identity, exploring the diverse characteristics and influences within my work. Thus, through engaging with the works and life stories of Sofonisba Anguissola and Angelica Kauffmann, I sought to understand how the erasure of women in the arts influences my own practice.
