Resumo
This work proposes the creation of a memorial in honor of enslaved Black people and the Quilom- bola community of Alto Santana, located in the city of Goiás (GO), Brazil. In response to historical marginalization and institutional invisibility, the project aims to reinterpret Praça da Conceição through the lens of social memory and ancestry, linking the quilombola territory to urban tourist circuits. The qualitative research includes bibliographic review, on-site visits, and conversations
with local residents. The architectural proposal is guided by the four key elements of Environmental Graphic Design: physical environment, transmitted information, projected identity, and user experience. The square was identified as a strategic location for the memorial, with the potential to promote symbolic reparation, cultural recognition, and urban inclusion. The study concludes that the intervention can serve as a tool for historical justice and identity strengthening.
