Resumo
The study examines the (dis)respect for the collec- tive rights of elderly military police officers in Goiás, discussing concepts of otherness and collective rights, as well as the aging process of the Brazilian population, focusing on public policies and legislation for elderly protection. It analyzes public security and the impact of the profession on the quality of life of retired military police officers, emphasizing the right to healthy aging. Using a qualitative-quantitative approach and documentary and bibliographic research techniques, the study reveals a lack of in- formation on the health and quality of life of elderly military police officers in Goiás, as well as the insufficiency of public policies aimed at monitoring and promoting their quality of life, confirming the initial hypothesis. Additionally, it provides a historical analy- sis of the Brazilian context since the Constitution, highlighting the need for more robust policies to support the growing population of elderly military police officers.
