Direitos humanos na polícia militar do Acre: a jornada das mulheres na corporação

Resumo

This paper aimed to understand how women entered the Military Police of Acre, considering the context of their integration into the institution and evaluating their participation and trajectory between 1985 and 2024. It is a descriptive research conducted through bibliogra-phic and netnographic review, seeking to understand key concepts such as discrimination, harassment, gender prejudice, and power relations in the military organizational context. The findings revealed that power relations significantly impact the experiences of women police officers, reinforcing stereotypes and limiting their opportunities for professional growth, despite some important career advancements for women. Furthermore, it was observed that the Military Police of Acre made progress by unifying career paths, which were long segrega-ted for men and women, and initiated the implementation of institutional policies to raise awareness about the importance of fostering a healthy environment through respect for gender issues and, consequently, for human rights.
