Resumo

This article analyzes the relationship between artificial intelligence and education, criticizing the technocentric view that attributes an autonomous transformative role to technology. Recent research questions technological determinism, but still defendsdigital tools as indispensable to education. From a Marxist perspective, the article discusses how artificial intelligence, in capitalism, reinforces labor exploitation and alienation, being used to extract surplus value. In education, its adoption is driven by global policies, promoting platformization, precarious teaching, and the fetishization of technology. Public policies that link artificial intelligence to education demonstrate commodification. Artificial intelligence, far from being neutral, reproduces inequalities, requiring a critical and counter-hegemonic appropriation, linked to the interests of workers.
