Potenciais da comercialização de produtos brasileiros da floricultura nos mercados doméstico e externo

Resumo

This study contrasts the strategic potential of the domestic and foreign markets as drivers of the Brazilian chain of flowers and ornamental plants. Unlike other Brazilian agricultural chains that primarily focus on exports, floristry products have their majority destination on the domestic market. Brazil occupies a global position without distinctive features, with only 3% of production intended for foreign trade. In the world ranking, the country is 97th on the list of exporters of floristry products in 2020. To achieve the study’s objectives a Facts Finding Research approach was conducted. The results suggest that while there are positive projections for domestic consumption, sensitivity to changes in income supports evidence that dependency can lead to a bottleneck. As a result, potential gains from the exchange of goods between countries, as well as market expansion and the elimination of surpluses, contribute strategically in the face of adversity. From an international perspective, it is also worth highlighting how the movement to reconfigure the global competitive environment, marked by the increased participation of South American and African countries, can also mean new opportunities for Brazil to participate.
