Transição para uma bovinocultura de corte sustentável no Brasil: uma análise SVAR

Abstract

The article aimed to identify whether Brazilian beef cattle farming is managing to transition to a more sustainable model. The analysis involved observing the behavior of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in response to supply and demand shocks in this sector. Structural Vector Autoregressive (SVAR) modeling was employed. The work contributes to a greater understanding of the relationship between GHG emissions growth and the Brazilian beef cattle farming. The results indicate a duality in the sustainable transition of beef cattle farming, with the coexistence of pressures for rapid production increases and the need to plan for increased livestock inventories to achieve greater control over GHG emissions from the sector.
