Masoquismo: o corpo como objeto do desejo do outro

Abstract

This study addresses masochism beyond the pathologizing conception of 19th-century psychiatric manuals, understanding it as a constitutive dimension of the subject. Freud shifts the concept from the field of perversion, placing it within the structuring of the psychic apparatus and distinguishing three forms: erogenous, moral, and feminine, the latter being marked by the offering of the body to the desire of the Other. Lacan broadens the discussion by situating the subject as an effect of language, alienated in the field of the Other, where the body becomes a symbolic and eroticized response to external demand. The reading of Venus in Furs, by SacherMasoch, highlights the eroticization of submission, in which the body is offered not as the annulment of the Self, but as a pathway to satisfaction and belonging. Thus, masochism is presented as a psychic operation that transforms suffering into the language of desire and enables the bond with the other. sisEste estudio aborda el masoquismo más allá de la concepción patologizante de los manuales psiquiátricos del siglo XIX, entendiéndolo como una dimensión constitutiva del sujeto. Freud desplaza el concepto del campo de la perversión, insertándolo en la estructuración del aparato psíquico y distinguiendo tres formas: erógena, moral y femenina, siendo esta última marcada por la oferta del cuerpo al deseo del Otro. Lacan amplía la discusión al situar al sujeto como efecto del lenguaje, alienado en el campo del Otro, donde el cuerpo se convierte en respuesta simbólica y erotizada a la demanda ajena. La lectura de La Venus de las Pieles, de Sacher-Masoch, evidencia la erotización de la sumisión, en la cual el cuerpo se ofrece no como anulación del Yo, sino como vía de satisfacción y pertenencia. Así, el masoquismo se presenta como una operación psíquica que transforma el sufrimiento en lenguaje del deseo y posibilita el lazo con el otro.
