Item Biblioteca, livro, conhecimento: historicizando a prática de leitura(2013) Arrais, Cristiano Alencar; Silva, Ademir Luiz daThe aim of this work is make a few observations on the cultural tradition in the West, from the discussion on three of its key elements: a History of Libraries, books and the object of knowledge.Item Coleção Brasília: um estudo sobre as formas de mobilização do tempo histórico(2012-09) Arrais, Cristiano AlencarThis article analyzes the “Diário de Brasilia”, that integrates the Coleção Brasilia, focusing on its ambition to reconstruct, in 1960, the Brazil- ian past through a historiographical narrative. In its organization there is a memory project, explicitly directed towards the future. I identify four of its functions, from which the organizers of the “Diário” sought to crystallize the “cor- rect interpretation” of the construction of the new capital, assuming that that period was a moment of mobilization of national forces and expectations ready for action. Thus, the docu- mentation anchored by an institutional inter- est to conceive the legitimate history about the construction process of the new Nation capital inverts and corrupts the relationship between experience and expectation, projecting the ex- pectations of the present towards the past rather than the future. This present is no longer the privileged locus of articulation among histori- cal periods, but rather an inflexion point where- in the past and the future coincide in the same political project.Item A construção de Belo Horizonte e o projeto de memória de Aarão Reis(2010) Arrais, Cristiano AlencarThis article aims to analyze the memory project organized by Aarão Reis when he led the New Minas Gerais State Capital Building Commission. The term memory project seeks to identify the interest and effort in constructing and preserving a given meaning of the present, for future generations, which manifested itself in a careful archiving and monumentalization of all sorts of remains capable of recording the importance of that event for history. The project directed its attention specifically to the instruments and supports that based the form of representation of temporal experience of individuals. In this particular case, three elements stand out: the preservationist interest, monumentalist interest, and the association of the images of Aarão Reis and Belo Horizonte.Item A filosofia da história de R. G. Collingwood: duas contribuições(2010) Arrais, Cristiano AlencarIn this paper I analyze the philosophy of history of R. G. Collingwood. To this, divided it into three stages. First, a general explanation about the ideas of author and its main characteristics as a philosopher. Then, I examine the controver- sial concept or re-enactment in light of his interpreters and manuscripts published in recent years. Finally, in conclusion, I indicate two possible contributions to the collingwoodian philosophy of history to the current historical thought: his concept of historical imagination - whose job is to make the past accessible to an object thou- ght through a constructive model interpolation between the statements made by other sources, less the same - and autonomy of the historian - the result of criticism of the concept document and historiography, transformed into evidence, not authority. The two concepts are, I believe, the root of the “Copernican revolution” which brings the history to the status of a scientific discipline.Item Fronteira e cultura política nacional: a revolução de 1930 em Goiás(2007-10) Arrais, Cristiano AlencarItem História e memória em Goiás no século XIX: uma consciência da mágoa e da esperança(2013-12) Sandes, Noé Freire; Arrais, Cristiano AlencarThis article intends to identify an explanatory model to writing the Goiás history, in the nineteenth century. This model involved an ambi- guous relationship with the past, revealing an historical awareness characte- rized by strengthening of link with the nation, by negativation of the colonial period, and the adoption of a moral criterion for judge the past. By dialoguing intensively with regional memory nearly to the point to fuse up with it, the writing of Goiás history called on the State to participate in the construction, not the Nation, as outlined in the writings of Instituto Histórico e Geográfico Brasileiro (IHGB), but of the region in hopes to reconstruct their identity links.Item Monumentalidade, linhagem e estrutura narrativa: o horizonte de expectativa do projeto urbanístico de Goiânia(2010-12) Arrais, Cristiano AlencarThis article attempts to examine the exis- ting horizon of expectations in the project of building the new capital of the state of Goias, Goiania. Through the concepts of narrative structure and aesthetics lineage want to reconstruct the concept of monu- mentality that was developed by designers responsible for drafting the plan of the new capital and the form how the appropriations of international urban ideals and social and historical elements functioned as the cement necessary to the formation of the collective political imaginary about that urban space.Item Patiocularidades: um exame da relação entre história e narrativa audiovisual a partir de sua dimensão prática(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2018-12) Arrais, Cristiano Alencar; Maia, Júlio César Apolinário; Melo, André Luiz; Lima, Daniel AndrulisThe article approaches the process of production of the documentary “Patiocularidades” from the reflections on audiovisual narrative. It problematizes the process of expansion of the concept of narrative within historiography and its relationship with distinct processes of narrativization of experience, especially those associated with the theme of temporality. By taking as “experimental design” the different ways in which the Pátio das Humanidades of the Federal University of Goiás is represented by its goers, it positions itself in favor of the incorporation of audiovisual narratives as an important professional area of historians today, when the interest is increasing by the past. He also argues that the ability of instrumental management of processes of narrativization and fictionalization, combined with the self-reflexive dimension of the historian’s formation, enables the historian to contribute to the debate about the public uses of history.
