In line with that, this work discusses the algebraic learning in a learning space: the Mathematics Club. From the historicalcultural approach and the Activity Theory, the learning spaces are understood, as a place where individuals accomplish specific learning goals guided by intentional action for who teaches. A major finding of this study is that spaces such as the Mathematics Club are places capable to propitiate a significant learning activity in the field of mathematical knowledge. This work results of a didactic experiment with children at the “Application School” from College of Education at Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil.Item Possibilidades metodológicas na pesquisa em educação matemática: o experimento didático(2012-06) Moura, Manoel Oriosvaldo de; Cedro, Wellington LimaThis article presents one of the possible methodological ways for the investigation that has as main research center the process of education and learning in the mathematical classroom: the teaching experiment. Starting off as a report of an investigation on the teaching of algebra for children of primary level, we will define and characterize this methodological proposal. In addition, we will discuss the main contributions and the difficulties that appear in a developed research activity on the theoretical bases of the teaching experiment.
