Item Diarreia viral bovina: revisão(2014-02) Viu, Marco Antônio de Oliveira; Dias, Luzia Renata Oliveira; Lopes, Dyomar Toledo; Viu, Alessandra Feijó Marcondes; Ferraz, Henrique TrevizoliThe bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) is a disease of major negative economic impact, endemic in most countries and causing productive and reproductive losses. In Brazil, the disease is widespread in cattle herds. The infection occurs in most bi-ungulates, but the prevalence is in cattle. This review aims to point out relevant features of the BVD, covering its etiology, epidemiology, pathogenesis, symptoms, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and control.Item Doenças parasitárias reprodutivas em bovinos - neosporose(2014-02) Dias, Luzia Renata Oliveira; Ferraz, Henrique Trevizoli; Viu, Marco Antônio de Oliveira; Lopes, Dyomar Toledo; Viu, Alessandra Feijó MarcondesThe bovine neosporosis is an infectious disease of global expression, of parasitic origin, caused by the protozoan Neospora caninum, which generates great economic impact to cause abortion in beef cattle and milk in several countries. Despite the high prevalence of antibodies in animals, the frequency of clinical neosporosis has been poorly recorded. For effective control of the disease, we must collect and remove aborted fetuses, fetal membranes, placenta and dead calves, avoiding the ingestion by dogs of contaminated material. This review aims to highlight important aspects of bovine neosporosis, including etiology, epidemiology, pathogenesis, symptoms, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and control.Item Rinotraqueíte infecciosa bovina: revisão(2014-02) Viu, Marco Antônio de Oliveira; Dias, Luzia Renata Oliveira; Lopes, Dyomar Toledo; Viu, Alessandra Feijó Marcondes; Ferraz, Henrique TrevizoliThe infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) is a specific infection, caused by herpes viruses. This disease causes a negative economic impact in cattle production system resultant of the growth retardation of young animals, less dairy production, embryonic and fetal death, and abortion more frequent in the second or third trimester of pregnancy. There is spread of type 1 bovine herpes virus (HVB-1) for all regions of Brazil, reaching high infection rates in herds. This review aimed to point the main aspects of this disease, in order to alert professionals about the importance of performing an effective control and implement prevention programs, preventing the spread of the disease in cattle herds.
