Resumo
This research was carried out with the purpose of
determining the nutritional composition of the sunflower
meal – solvent, obtained from an oil processing company
located in Goiás, Brazil. Inmetallic battery cages, 168 chicks
were allotted in order to determine the amount of
metabolizable energy (ME) and to evaluate the proximal
composition of this ingredient. It was observed that the
apparent ME and nitrogen corrected ME values (1.777,23
and 1.523,93 kcal/kg, respectively) were similar to those
obtained by 1994 NRC’s table (1.543 kcal/kg), normal for
protein (27,36%) and high for NDF and ADF (42,15 % for
FDN and 31,68 % for FDA, respectively), which limits its
use for poultry.
