Resumo
This research aimed to uncover some of my personal theories in relation to the process of
teaching and learning English as a foreign language, by means of collaborative refl ection
as an instrument to develop my own pedagogical practice. The results show that refl ecting
about our own theories and pedagogical practice can lead to professional development and
that refl ection, if it is done collaboratively between peers, can promote changes in the way
student teachers perceive themselves as professional and also in the process of teaching and
learning as a whole.
