Resumo
This Course Conclusion Work aimed at knowing the main challenges for the
realization of the right to education for children and young people with ASD - Autistic
Spectrum Disorder, considering that it has many specificities that can challenge the effective
inclusion of students in the education network. regular education. To this end, we adopted a
bibliographic search to identify the historical path of inclusion / exclusion of different people,
the normative milestones of recent times, the advances and setbacks, the concept of autism
in the definition of science, its framing as a disability for legal effects , the dichotomy between
forecasting and effecting inclusion and reflections on the concept of equality, normality and
abnormality and the importance of data and statistics for the establishment of social changes
and public policies that are aligned with the objectives of inclusion. Having the bibliographic
support as a basis to understand the reality, we bring then the qualitative / quantitative
research that took place in the Secretary of Education of the Municipality of Goiás about
students with ASD enrolled in the regular education network, whose focus was to identify the
number of students, the rights arising from the legislation that are being guaranteed and the
main impasses for the inclusion of students and as policies and methodologies that are
adopted, without this, we consider that it will not be possible to talk about inclusion, but only
the insertion and enrollment of students with disabilities or disorders at school, without
meeting their needs and guaranteeing their rights, as provided by Brazilian law.
