Resumo
The objective of this work was to analyze the transformations in the urban environment due to the influence of a Bus Rapid Transit Corridor (BRT) in the city of Goiânia. The methodology involved digital processing of remote sensing images in Geographic Information System (GIS) environments. The algorithm used for the supervised classification of images was the Maximum Likelihood (MAXVER). For this purpose, high spatial resolution orbital images obtained via the Google Earth Pro® platform were used, at different acquisition dates, and which enabled the spatiotemporal analysis. The results revealed that the urban landscape of the studied stretches underwent notable changes with the implementation of the BRT works, which began in 2013. From the classified images, it appears that the main changes were the intensification of areas covered by commercial surfaces, increase in areas pavements, and revitalization of tree vegetation and removal of grassy vegetation along the central flowerbeds of the BRT corridor.
