Resumo
The present work deals with Scientific Initiation at the Faculty of Education of the Federal
University of Goiás, Campus Goiânia. The main objective was to evaluate the
involvement of undergraduate students of the Pedagogy course at the Federal University
of Goiás with regard to scientific initiation. To achieve the proposed general objective,
the following specific objectives were listed: a) To identify in the literature the main notes
on scientific initiation in the contemporary Brazilian context; b) understand the
institutions and the functioning of scientific initiation in Brazilian universities, especially
in the Faculty of Education of the Federal University of Goiás; c) analyze the profile of
undergraduate students of the Pedagogy course at the Federal University of Goiás with
scientific initiation. The realization of this work is justified by being able to contribute to
the institution to rethink and evaluate to try to reverse this scenario, which is why the
justification for this research is sustained. It was found that students, both those who are
at the beginning and end of the course, whether in the morning or at night, are
predominantly young, single and have paid work. Most are aware of the existence of a
scientific initiation program even though most respondents never had access to a public
notice.
