TraduzSaúde: desenvolvimento de um aplicativo para tradução de consultas médicas em Libras e promoção de acessibilidade na área da saúde

Abstract

As a communicative solution within the deaf community, Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) becomes the primary language for over half of those who are fully or partially deaf. However, due to the communicative barrier between sign language and orality, obstacles arise that deprive the deaf of fully enjoying basic rights, especially access to healthcare. Faced with this reality, the present project aims, through an analysis of the main barriers between deaf patients and hearing healthcare professionals, to develop a user interface design solution that alleviates communicative difficulties during an in-person consultation without the presence of an interpreter. The final result consists of a mobile interface design project that supports both individuals before, during, and after the appointment, providing translation features between Libras and Portuguese.
