Resumo

The main objective of this study was to analyze how the schools Centro Educational Mabel (private network) and the Rei Leão Municipal School (public school) deal with encouraging reading in elementary school children. With this data collection, it was possible to analyze those teachers and coordinators are engaged in creating scenarios, which encourage children to practice reading, and we realized that this incentive lasts when there is parental support. Reading is of great value for the development of children, and with the research done we see that there is a desire for reading in children, so the acceptance of the works suggested by the teachers becomes easier.
