Resumo
In this paper is discussed the proposal of building a Culture of Peace through Education for
Peace project, as a way to understand, prevent and combat the violence, particularly in the
school context. Relates to this discussion, the Piaget’s theory on the moral development of the
individual self and its rational necessity to act cooperatively and jointly, indicating that this
action involves the experience of respectful relationships, reciprocity, that need to be taught in
school. Encourage the development of “be supportive” shows the “Achilles heel” of education,
or school, you want to be a builder of a Culture of Peace. We question the recommendations
homogenizing peace idealized demanded by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and
Cultural Organization (UNESCO), as a way to foster debate on violence, with a view to passing
within and beyond the school itself.
