Resumo
The object of this article is to analysc funeral art and its forms of exhibit, steaming from two factors: the adopted proccdures for curatorship of the exhibit "Funeral Art: The producrion ol the marbleyards o! Sao Paulo State (XIX-XX Centwy), exhibited in the cities of Sao Paulo (1993), Ribeirao Preto (1995), Goiania (1998) and Jatai (2000): and the making process of lhe folcler "Cemiterio Santana" ,in Lhe city of Goiânia. We seek in both cases to prove the possibilities of exhibitions to break free from institucionalized spaces, no clinging to onhoclox praxis, on informality, anel slill grant meaning to the funcra1·y memorabilia that preserves arlistic value.
