Resumo
The presente study aims to reflect on the proposal of human formation and the
political-pedagogical positioning conveyed by the official documents that regulate the
educational practice in the municipality of Goiânia (GO). This is a qualitative research of
documentary type, which is based on the analysis of the National Common Curricular Base
(BNCC), the Curricular Document for Goiás, Volume I, Early Childhood Education (DC-GO) and
the Early Childhood Education Curricular Document of the Municipal Secretariat of Education
and Sports of Goiânia (DCEI SME-GO). Focusing on the norms for the curriculum from the
national guidelines, it was selected what refers to Early Childhood Education in the
municipality of Goiânia, in order to analyze its convergence with the superior guidelines. In
this regard, the research developed is based on the following question: "What is the meaning
of school education given by the political pedagogical orientation of the official documents that
guide the elaboration of the curriculum in the municipal schools of Goiânia?”. Based on
Dermeval Saviani's notes, the premises evidenced in the documents were related to the
unfolding of pedagogical ideas in Brazil from the 1930s on, making it possible to unveil the
context to which school education is subjected and how the totality defines the historical
development of educational practices. The work was, therefore, concerned with the critical
reflection on the political-ideological conception that permeates the curricular documents, in
order to denounce the conformation and the reaffirmation of this barbaric and unequal
society. This investigation took place, above all, in view of the concern for a human formation
that enables a less barbaric reality, reaffirming what Theodor Adorno postulates in Education -
What for? (1995b): the meaning of education must be the production of a true consciousness,
since it is only through human emancipation that a democratic society becomes viable.
