Resumo

Objective: This study aims to review the scientific literature to analyze how physical activity contributes to the recovery and prevention of knee joint injuries, with an emphasis on the principles of kinesiology and biomechanics, and on the safe return to physical and sports activities. Methodology: A systematic literature review was conducted, covering studies published between 2004 and 2024 in databases such as PubMed, Scielo, and Google Scholar. Rigorous inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied to select articles related to kinesiology, biomechanics, and the role of physical activity in the treatment and prevention of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries and other knee structures. Results: The analysis showed that planned physical exercises, including closed-chain, open-chain, and proprioceptive exercises, provide significant benefits for functional recovery and joint stability. Additionally, integrating techniques such as muscle strengthening and joint mobility training proved effective in preventing injury recurrence. Conclusion: Physical activity, carefully and personally guided by specialized professionals, is essential for functional recovery and injury prevention in the knee joint. Progressive and structured planning of the return to physical activities is crucial to minimize risks and ensure sports longevity.
