Resumo
Considering the importance of the magazine Nova to the market and to the Brazilian
editorial and women's magazine segment, the work’s purpose is to identify the priorities of
issues assigned by the publication between the years of 2002 to 2006, but also reveal who is
the alleged reader of Nova. Ancored in French thought communication and to the content
analysis method proposed by José Marques de Melo were unable to break the magazine into
categories of messages (news, advertising and entertainment) and analyze the content bound
under the perspective of structuralist theory. The hypothesis is that Nova itself is
representative of the Brazilian journalism and its pages reflect the interests and expectations
of your audience, which does not mean that women idealized by the publication matches the
profile of the reader in question.
