Resumo
It aims to provide an analysis of the library at Colégio Estadual Waldemar Mundim through the perception of both students and teachers based on the IFLA/UNESCO guidelines in relation to the schools‟ library and law 12.244. The methodology applied was based on the phenomenology to verify the perspectives of both students and teachers about the school‟s library. To provide this analysis around the physical, human and organizational resources from the library the IFLA/UNESCO guidelines were taken in consideration to create an appliedquestionnaire for the school library. The delimitation of the research field comprehends both teachers and students from the senior high school grades whichever fifty one students and six high school teachers answered. The results came up that even though the sample had no idea about the guidelines and laws that surround the librarian science into the school field, both students and teacher acknowledge about the basic functions of a library: to provide support to the learning-knowledge system, yet, this is not a reality that is lived through the school community.
