Resumo
The subject discussed in this article is the initial training of teachers of Geography and
interference that can have such training for professional practice. The analysis of teacher
training, as part of degree courses, is that axes laws regulate the content and discussion related
to the place, as spatiality of young learners. First, the text refers to the legal steps taken, from
the 2000s, to train teachers in Brazil and the problems arising from their practical application
training. It then discusses the specific training of teachers of geography in higher level courses,
highlighting the place as a reference to the content covered. The place is considered one of the
intellectual tools that make up the geographical thought, and that is why an approach suited to
the axis of the training contents.
