Resumo
This paper reflects on the relation between the student/reader and the literary
text. Reading is regarded as a practice determined by coercions from the
institution that elaborates the university entrance exam and applied to an
evaluative / selective instance of control. Thus, the focus of this study is on
the relation between literature and the university entrance exam, observing in
what measure the literary genre fulfills its function within the pedagogic
discourse, which is marked by principles of control and subjection.
