Resumo

This paper presents a reflective narrative on the process and studies involved in digital game development, based on experiences with games created throughout the Sustainability Laboratory course and a supervised internship focused on narrative scriptwriting. The main project discusses the development of the game Eva, o Herói Escolhido, conceived in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 5, which addresses gender equality. Through research, interviews, narrative analyses, and theoretical references on storytelling, a proposal was developed to promote female representation in digital games by challenging stereotypes commonly found in the gaming industry. The game features a female protagonist in a setting traditionally dominated by male characters. In parallel, this paper describes the internship experience, the creation of a second investigative narrative game, and the knowledge acquired through the study of authors such as Vogler, Noemi Jaffe, Anne Lamott, Umberto Eco, Robert McKee, and Lewis Hyde, among others. The narrative of our experience highlights challenges related to early game development, collaborative writing, creative decision-making, critical reflections, and the skills developed throughout the process.
