Resumo
This article approaches issues related to children’s literature and its formative
possibities, aiming to question the contradictions which were already present
in the historical origin of this genre: its literary claim, its links to education,
its authoritarian vocation, its condition as merchandise and its possibilities
for formation, humanization and emancipation.
According to Marisa Lajolo, Regina Zilberman and Lígia Cademartóri
Magalhães, authors whose work support the discussion held here, children’s
literature can contribute to a formation that focuses on autonomy as long as
it is in fact a literary construction.
