Resumo
It investigates if gamification could act as a readers engagement methodology for the children and juvenile that used to visit a library, after noticing that space was underused. It is characterized as a descriptive exploratory research and uses investigative elements inherent of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. Understanding that the ascension of the new techno-informacional paradigm has lead to profound changes in the lives, behaviours and needs of people, what translates on the transformation of the demmands presented by library users, this study defends that the new generation's culture must be considered at the services and products offered by libraries, in order to create and strengthen the bond between the institution and its users. Considering that games are part of this users culture, proposes, implements and evaluates three gamified activities, conducted between june and november of 2018 with participation of child and young frequenters of the library, in atempt of promoting reading among this public. It concludes that gamification applied at the library not only engaged its users in reading, but also promoted learning on the use of a technological resource and strengthened and created new bonds between the institution and its users.
