Resumo
This paper aims to study the development process of video games that utilize national history as a narrative device. To this end, we sought bibliographical references on game theory and design from authors such as Johan Huizinga, Eric Zimmerman and Katie Salen and selected three games of this genre produced in Brazil for analysis: “Angola Janga: Picada dos Sonhos” (under development), “Árida: Backlands' Awakening” (2016) and “Huni Kuin: Yube Baitana” (2017). Based on the reading of these authors, the group members’ experience as players and interviews with the developers of the selected games, we defined the criteria to perform a
content analysis based on the method by Lawrence Bardin (2011), from which were created inferences about the development process of history games. These inferences were used as a basis for elaborating the content of an illustrated infographic for printed publications, with tips and guidance for the production of games with this theme.
