Resumo
This article aims to present some considerations about one of the new forms of literary expression
in the young and children's literature field: the Illustrated Book, highlighting it as a product which contributes to
the introduction of a new concept of reading and for the constitution of a type of literature, semantically, more
autonomous. This study demonstrates that the Illustrated Book requires from who reads new hermeneutical
demands and that it can be used to develop skills and competences in the process of a new reader formation.
