Resumo
Cognitive functions such as attention, memory, orientation, motor functions, tactile kinesthetic, verbal, and even higher functions are part of our neurological system, which encompasses several neural systems about learning. Having said this, new ways of learning and developing these functions have been studied. The central objective of this paper is to approach and analyze the theme of the use of digital games and their impact, positive and negative, on the cognitive sphere of the human being. It is proposed, therefore, to present research and studies on the influence of digital games on cognition and to analyze League of Legends as a promoter of the development of certain cognitive functions. From this point of view, digital games, as well as League of Legends, are enablers of the development of cognitive functions
