Resumo
The present work aimed to problematize emotions as constitutive of human beings,
understanding how their presence in children's literature can be relevant to the child's
development. For this, it was necessary to resume the concept of emotion, using wallon
(1971, 2007), johnson-laird and oatley (2016) and zazzo (1968) as a theoretical
framework. To conceptualize the role of reading, literature and children's literature, the
contributions of manguel (1997), abramovich (1997), souza (2013), coelho (2000) and
zilberman (2003) were crucial. Through a qualitative bibliographical research, nine
children's literary books were analyzed, divided into two categories, the first being a
reference to books that address emotions directly and the second with respect to books
that do not address emotions directly, but that allow dialogue about feelings. From the
analysis carried out, it was noted the significance of the literature that provides readers
with a way of representing their emotions.
