From a critical analysis of Facebook discourse of the “Hospital de Urgências de Goiânia - HUGO”
we evaluated the converse on public health in new media and if it presents itself as alternative and
differentiated from what is exposed in the traditional mass media. Applying the three-dimensionalanalysis indicated by Fairclough, we sought to understand the interfaces representing the speech in
new media from the relationship between text, discursive practices and social practices. Results show
that the speech follows the format of writing and journalistic production, but with different themes
that would probably not be guided in traditional media. Because it is a digital social network with
unlimited space and possibilities, perceive a clear segmentation of public posts, mainly for health
professionals, patients and society in general. It is concluded that the discourse of social media are
information that should be public, but which were private by not find space in traditional media.
