Resumo

The present study reflects, in an introductory way and with reference to the Critical Theory, about the teaching and the exercise of the educator, since its construction, such as the way the exercise was constituted in Greece, its expression in Western civilization with the profession of priests and later, with the performance of pedagogues. Special attention is given to the situation of this profession in Brazil. With the dismissal of conceptual forms, he presents the fall of metaphysics and its intrinsic relationship with formation and semi-formation, with democracy, dictatorship and integration. Accompanying these processes, he indicates the proletarianization of teachers as a trend inherent to the expansion and modus operandi of progress. In the context of education, the expression of mass production was already being produced in Brazil, since hygienism and perhaps before that. He sees in the alterations produced in the teaching profession and in its first modern tradition, pre-bourgeois, the establishment of a class of teachers, mostly women teachers, peaceful with the newly achieved state that soon changed with the rapid advance of progress, producing the proletarianization of the newly formed class. Furthermore, he points out new features of the relationship between the ascending and descending classes of teachers, one of which is the constitution of the country's largest working and political class, which is solidifying both subjectively and objectively. At this point, it questions the meaning of political projects contrary to the performance of teachers, in due democratic context.
