Resumo
The article presents a reflection on the use of images in the teaching of
history. Based on analysis of the production of specialists in the Field of
history, the late use of images in dissertations and articles published in the
Field of education is identified, as well as a mismatch between
contemporary studies of images and the foundations of perception that
structure their usage prospects. In this way, the protagonism of cinema is
evident as the main choice among the various supports for works on images, in addition to the emphasis on the minor documentary status
given to images, which subordinate them to written documents, value their
use only as a means or resource and dis regard Your Mightiness. The
article opposes this Idea with the help of studies on the image as a way of
thinking, especially the constructions and montages elaborated from the
cinema of Jean-Luc Godard.
