Resumo
The present work, at first, understands the main factors that influence consumer behavior in fashion in general, as well as the behavior of compulsive consumer specific. In a second step also is seeking to apply the theories discussed in the theoretical part of this work in the media narrative of the film Confessions of a Shopaholic, by analyzing the life and behavior of the main character Rebecca Bloomwood, in order to enable a better understanding of the issues above. Thus, for this later time, it employed the method of analysis proposed by Bardin (1977) content in order to identify and discuss the categories that the film brings pertaining to fashion, consumer society, consumer behavior and compulsive buying. Thus, we can conclude that the main factors that influence consumer behavior in fashion are psychological, social, personal, cultural and communications order, as well as factors that influence the behavior of compulsive consumers relate with deficit problems esteem, self-esteem as much as the esteem of others, in addition, there is the credit card, which is configured as a driver of compulsive buying. As for the media narrative of the film Confessions of a shopaholic noted that it can serve as an important tool for understanding the many issues that this paper explores in his theory.
