Resumo

This paper approaches orientation dilemmas facing the teaching of history. In an attempt to show how cinema may foster the debate regarding temporalities and narratives, this discussion focuses on the presentifying and liminal aspect of historical experience. Inspired by the narrative inversion of the motion picture Irreversible (2002), it defends the notion of history as a performing experience, a strategy in which the senses are conceived through materialities and narrative forms; these elements may help the teaching of history to become more intense and active.
