Resumo

Thinking about deaf student’s education has proven to be a complex task, especially when dealing with specific content, such as science / chemistry, which depends on a range of concepts that interact synergistically. In this paper we face the challenge of planning and developing educational interventions (EI) with instructional materials adapted favoring the view of functional referential with the aim of teach some chemical concepts. The EI were held in the Special Centre Elysio Campos, inclusive school maintained by the Deaf Association of Goiânia, in a class of 9th grade of elementary school, where all students were deaf. Our results allow observing that students accessed the scientific knowledge and thus have produced word from the written speech. The EI represented an alternative in chemical education for the deaf.
