Necessidade de se irrigar a fase inicial de floresta de Mogno-Africado no cerrado

Resumo

The objective of this work was to evaluate the growth of young African mahogany plants after the interruption of different irrigation managements in the first years of the cycle. The work was developed in Bonfinópolis-GO, in Distroferric Red Latosol, in March 2012. The experimental design was a randomized complete block, with three replications and 10 treatments (15 plants per plot), in a two-way arrangement with 3 quantities of drippers per plant (01, 02 and 03 drippers per plant) and 3 flow rates drippers (2 Lh-1, 4 Lh-1 and 8 Lh-1), and the control without irrigation. After two years of irrigated cultivation all treatments were discontinued (November 2013). Five years later (November 2018) no significant difference was observed for the variables plant height, stem height, diameter and breast height. The average increase in height of African mahogany plants after irrigation ceased was 15.6m, the stem height was 13m and the DBH was 0.14m. The results showed that the use of irrigation is not necessary for thecultivation of African mahogany, since the differences in plant height, stem and DBH were significant only in the first two years of cultivation and were not maintained in the following years.
