dc.description.abstractThe objective of this work was to evaluate the growth of young African mahogany plants after the interruption of different irrigation managements in the first years of the cycle. The work was developed in Bonfinópolis-GO, in Distroferric Red Latosol, in March 2012. The experimental design was a randomized complete block, with three replications and 10 treatments (15 plants per plot), in a two-way arrangement with 3 quantities of drippers per plant (01, 02 and 03 drippers per plant) and 3 flow rates drippers (2 Lh-1, 4 Lh-1 and 8 Lh-1), and the control without irrigation. After two years of irrigated cultivation all treatments were discontinued (November 2013). Five years later (November 2018) no significant difference was observed for the variables plant height, stem height, diameter and breast height. The average increase in height of African mahogany plants after irrigation ceased was 15.6m, the stem height was 13m and the DBH was 0.14m. The results showed that the use of irrigation is not necessary for thecultivation of African mahogany, since the differences in plant height, stem and DBH were significant only in the first two years of cultivation and were not maintained in the following years.
dc.description.resumoO objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o crescimento de plantas jovens de mogno-africano, após a interrupção de diferentes manejos de irrigação dos primeiros anos do ciclo. O trabalho foi desenvolvido em Bonfinópolis-GO, em Latossolo Vermelho Distroférrico, em março de 2012. O delineamento experimental adotado foi em blocos completos casualizados, com três repetições e 10 tratamentos (15 plantas por parcela), em arranjo bifatorial com 3 quantidades de gotejadores por planta (01, 02 e 03 gotejadores por planta) e 3 vazões de gotejadores (2 L.h-1, 4 L.h-1 e 8 L.h-1), e a testemunha sem irrigação. Após dois anos de cultivo irrigado todos os tratamentos foram interrompidos (novembro de 2013). Cinco anos depois (novembro de 2018) não foi observado diferença significativa para as variáveis altura de planta, altura de fuste e diâmetro a altura do peito (DAP). O incremento médio da altura de plantas de mogno-africano após cessar a irrigação foi de 15,6m, da altura de fuste foi de 13m e do DAP foi 0,14m. Os resultados mostraram que é dispensável o uso de irrigação para o cultivo de mogno-africano, uma vez que as diferenças em altura de planta, fuste e DAP foram significativas apenas nos dois primeiros anos de cultivo e não se mantiveram nos anos seguintes.
