Resumo

The present work aims to understand what are the difficulties that teachers face to include girls in indoor soccer classes. To discuss that, we did qualitative research initially based on a bibliographic review and on data obtained in a field research, using a semi-structured script; in addition, it is also characterized as a case study carried out with two teachers from a public school. We analyzed the main difficulties mentioned by the respondents and/or factors that led to these difficulties. We divided the categories of the analysis into: the professional and personal identification of the teachers; the offer of indoor soccer; the technical and physical capacities of the students and the gender issue and its preconcept. The study presented aspects that make the inclusion of girls in indoor soccer classes hard and how these aspects can affect the scholar life of those children and the professionalization of the teacher, through those problems, bring ways of how the teacher can change this unequal and discriminative reality. Among those difficulties founded we can quote the lack of participation and interest of the girls; how to deal with physical and technical abilities of the students; how to interfere in preconcept and discrimination situations.
