Cultura, interculturalidade e sala de aula de língua estrangeira: múltiplas perspectivas

Abstract

This article aims to present and discuss the definitions of culture and intercultural teaching of foreign languages. Some concepts on these themes will be discussed based on the theories by Risager (2005, 2006, 2010), Hall (2012), Spencer-Oatey and Franklin (2009), among others. Discussions about intercultural foreign language classroom will also be made, based on theories by Corbett (2003) and Risager (2006). Based on these theories, we discuss the importance that the teacher should give to culture and intercultural classroom, since language and culture are essential to the individual’s social construction.
