Resumo

This work is a bibliographic research that aims to investigate school failure crossed by issues of gender and race in the Revista Brasileira de Estudos Pedagógicos (RBEP) between 2010 and 2020. It emerges from the theoretical framework of Patto (2015) to critically comprehend the origins, concepts and challenges of education and fail at school. The methodology is composed by Gil (2002); Lima and Mioto (2007); Oliveira (1998) that gave the basis for the type of research and Severino (2016) to guide the moments of reading scientific texts. Were analyzed 7 articles by adopting an analytical script and after the analysis were divided into three thematic axes: 1) Gender axis; 2) Race Axis; and 3) Hybrid Axis; (crossed by both category). The results showed that the proximity between school and family plays an important role in children's school development. School reinforcement appears as a strategy for overcoming failure giving possibilities of access to higher education. Were evidenced that the differences between the socialization of children in the school environment, in the home environment and in other urban public spaces have repercussions on the performances and projections of the students' future professions. The performance of teachers combined with the reformulation of the curriculum is one of the ways to overcome educational problems. Teacher formation is essential to combat racism.The boys, especially blacks and browns, have more difficult school trajectories. Is needed na education with an anti-racist focus and sensitive to racial issues.
