Tem dendê, tem axé, tem química: sobre história e cultura africana e afro-brasileira no ensino de química

Resumo

This study aimed to present options for planning and designing educational interventions to contemplate the implementation of Law 10639, that is, the approach of the African-Brazilian history and culture in chemistry teaching (secondary and higher education). In this way, we discussed the plurality in the use of palm oil, such as in Brazilian cuisine and in traditional communities of African origin. It is proposed the use of palm oil and bark of palm tree, an element of the African Diaspora in Brazil, in chemistry teaching for concepts of lipids, fatty acids, homogeneous and heterogeneous systems, spectroscopic analysis in the infrared region, density and viscosity.
