Letramentos acadêmicos no espaço da diferença colonial: reflexões sobre trajetórias de estudantes indígenas na pós-graduação

Resumo
Situated in the fi eld of Academic Literacies studies, this paper focuses
on the relationship between knowledge production and academic communication,
observed in the Indigenous students’ trajectories in graduate programs. In this way, it
adopts a theoretical-analytical perspective that intersects epistemology and literacy
practices in academic context, seeking to problematize how and in what dimensions
the contact between different epistemological genealogies and different geo- and
body-politic positions impact students’ knowledge production and literacy practices. These refl ections are guided by three related objectives: i) to raise a brief theoretical
discussion on the fi eld of Academic Literacies studies, aiming to contribute to
its epistemological decentralization from the problematization of situations and
experiences that emerge in the space of colonial difference; ii) to analyze interlocutions
with Indigenous students, generated from an ethnographic approach, seeking to
demonstrate how ethnic-racial and cultural differences are materialized in geo- and
body-politic positions and, consequently, in different epistemological perspectives
and academic communication practices; and iii) to make visible dimensions considered
relevant to the Indigenous students’ trajectories in graduate studies and to provide
elements that add up to the necessary institutional evaluations, especially regarding
their permanence in the university.
